Prime Minister Olmert has reiterated that the US is committed to maintaining Israel's qualitative military edge over Arab countries in the Middle East, despite the reported weapons deals between the US and Gulf States including Saudi Arabia. However, US law still prohibits the sale of the futuristic F-22 Raptor aerial supremecy fighter to other countries, and the IDF has to decide whether to allocate the bulk of its budget to the Air Force or ground forces.
