One of Earth's slowest moving reptiles just got a lot faster as Zookeepers from the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo strapped wheels onto the bottom of a tortoise. The ten-year-old African Spurred Tortoise, named Arava, received her new set of wheels after suffering from a rare medical condition that paralyzed her two hind legs. While veterinarians worked to treat the animal’s condition they were unable to restore the use of her hind legs and therefore resorted to a more creative approach. 08/19/08
