Fifteen year old Tchompy, a loggerhead sea turtle, lost one front fin and half of another when he got entangled in a fishing net. The turtle rescue center located in Michmoret rescued Tchompy and have been caring for him since. Tchompy underwent surgery at the center where doctors inserted a metal plate in an attempt to save one of his fins. It was the first operation of its kind in Israel. Weeks later Tchompy is swimming to recovery.03/16/08
