An IDF soldier was killed and another seriously wounded after a roadside bomb was detonated near an IDF patrol on the Israeli side of the Gaza border fence near the Kissufim crossing in central Gaza on Thursday morning. Two other soldiers were lightly wounded. The soldiers were airlifted to the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack, Hamas also claimed its members were involved. Abu Ahmed the Islamic Jihad spokesman said the attack was to avenge the death of a senior commander killed by IDF soldiers during a brief incursion earlier this week.06/03/08
