Selon eux, Israël cherche à prendre le contrôle de cette mosquée, située sur le mont du Temple. Le site de l’esplanade des mosquées reste un point sensible pour les Palestiniens qui ne cessent de dénoncer la volonté israélienne de « conquérir » ce lieu saint du Judaïsme.
