Le président français Nicolas Sarkozy, actuellement en visite à Damas, remettra ce jeudi à son homologue syrien Bachar al-Assad une lettre du père du soldat franco-israélien Gilad Shalit, destinée à son fils enlevé par le Hamas il y a deux ans.
Nicolas Sarkozy remettra cette lettre au Président syrien, qui lui-même la remettra à l'émir du Qatar. Ce dernier la remettra à son tour à Khaled Mechaal, chef du bureau politique du Hamas, qui vit à Damas.
La missive sera remise à l'occasion du sommet quadripartite (France, Syrie, Qatar, Turquie) jeudi matin à Damas.
