The Israel Prison Service publicized Tuesday the list of 256 Palestinian security prisoners to be released Friday as a goodwill gesture to PA President Mahmoud Abbas. Despite the prisoners' not being convicted of direct involvement in the death of Israelis, the planned release has stirred up a hail of controversy and resounding objections by families of terror victims. 07/18/07

Controversial Prisoner Release Going Ahead- Hector, Toronto.
This act of good will was reduced by portraying it good will to Fatah in West Bank.
There is a bit confusion about the treatment meted by people in GAZA.
It is generally known that Hamas is not a cooperating party for Israel. The present political divide among Gaza and WEST Bank is due to uncompromising attitude of Fatah and Hammas.
Israel taking side of fatah is like discrimination humanity over politics?
Looking back to recent history of the Israel and Palestine, it can be seen that, Israel had always looked for a strong Political party which can effectively administer Palestine and at the same time should be supportive of Israel on economic and political fronts.
Over the time numerous attempts of truce and mutual understanding had been done with leaders of PLO, Fatah,President Mahmoud Abbas by releasing 256 detainees, release of revenue, etc.
Perhaps, it is time for Israel to take first unilateral step towards humanity and peace by opening Gaza-Egypt crossing and releasing revenue /funds, releasing detainees from Gaza who have not been associated with terror or crime against state of Israel.
Dealing people of Palestine equaly and fairly will be conducive to better opinion for Israel in public in Palestine and abroad. This will weed out radicals slowly but surely.
I'm positive that good deed goes a long way and returns for sure.
