Syrian War Drums Beating

The situation on the northern front with Syria has never been so tense. After viewing a largescale military exercise in the south simulating the conquering of a Syrian village. Chief of General Staff Lt.Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi declared that the army is ready and prepared for all scenarios whether in the north with the Syrians or in the south opposite the Palestinian terror groups.

On Tuesday, a Syrian member of parliament, Mohammed Habash, a close confidante of Syrian President Basher Assad, declared that it is no secret that Syria is preparing for war. He noted however that it was a response to Israel who seeks to initiate a confrontation.06/06/07
