Hamas figurehead Mahmoud al-Mabhouh sat at the top of the Mossad’s list of targets according to British journalist Gordon Thomas. Thomas wrote the book Gideon’s Spies about the Mossad- which was also the only book approved by the intelligence agency. He said al-Mabhouh’s killing in Dubai has all the marks of the Mossad’s Kidon assassination unit. The Mossad follows a set of guidelines put in place more than 50 years ago to carry out executions against Israel’s enemies, and the Prime Minister must approve of every operation.
