Heads of the newly formed Habayit Hayehudi (The Jewish Home) religious party – National Union Chairman MK Benyamin Elon, MK Zevulun Orlev (National Union-NRP), and MK Zvi Hendel (Tkuma) – are threatening to leave the party if Gen (res.) Yaakov Amidror doesn't agree to lead it, the latter announced Monday evening.
Amidror, currently the head of the party's public council, has committed to giving an answer before the council's conference. It is believed he will not agree to head the party.
