The global financial crisis lifted its head its head on Sunday in Jerusalem. The Matsart conducted an
auction in the capital's luxurious King David Hotel where works of art by top Israeli and international
artists were purchased by local and foreign dealers at lower prices than their market price.
Seeking fluid funds after suffering from the repercussions of the financial markets, owners strapped for
cash sold off  drawings by Pablo Picasso, Anna Ticho and paintings by Reuven Rubin, Carl Werner, Moshe Castel and Camille Pissarro to name a few. All were sold to the highest bidder. 12/01/08
