Organizers of the Israel-Sderot Conference on Social Issues said Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu, who were all scheduled to take part in the conference on Wednesday, have canceled.
Chairman of the conference, Shai Ben-Yaish told Ynet, "A leader that doesn't appear in a conference as important as this one, even at the price of incitement of a crowd that comes to hear the leader's voice, is a coward." The Foreign Ministry said Livni canceled her appearance at the conference two weeks ago due to schedule obligations.
