"Gilad is being held by Hamas in an isolated dark pit, for 900 days and nights now he hasn't seen daylight. Who would have believed that Israel, with all it has at its disposal, is incapable of freeing an IDF soldier kidnapped to Gaza nearly three years now," Noam Schalit said on Tuesday. Speaking at a conference in Sderot, Schalit recalled the words of former IDF chief of staff, Moshe Yaalon, who said: "They tell you the price (for Gilad) is too heavy, that we can't mortgage strategic assets for the one soldier. What society were they brought up in? What army did these people serve in?"
