The Dalai Lama's spokesman says surgery on the Tibetan spiritual leader to remove a gallstone has ended successfully.
Spokesman Chhime R. Chhoekyapa says the surgery was a "simple routine procedure." The Dalai Lama was hospitalized in New Delhi on Thursday, days after a medical checkup cleared him to resume foreign travel.
