For those with bucks to spare, despite the global financial crisis, Chairman Mao's personal airplane is up for sale.
The plane a British built Trident has been used as an attraction to lure shoppers to a mall in the city of
Zhuhai. However the shopping mall's owners claim it is taking up too much room and interferes
with plans to build a car park.
Wang Zhilei, the general manager of the development company that owns the plan told reporters that
the decision to sell the plane was not a difficult one. " If we don't have enough parking spaces, people will not come to shop,"he said.
Until the sale is made, a huge for sale sign with Zhilei's cell phone number written on it has been stretched across the plane. According to reports the plane one of a number purchased by the Chinese People's Liberation Party for its leaders in 1969, was used by Jiang Qing, the notorious Madame Mao, the leader's fourth and last wife.10/06/08
