With soaring temperatures reaching between 30 to 41degrees celsius in different parts of the country, the beach was one of the most popular venues for keeping cool on Thursday, as the summer vacation came to an end. At the Dead Sea where temperatures were well over 40 degrees, visitors had a choice of floating on their backs, keeping cool uner a pile of mud or heading for the nearest snack bar. Even the animals at Jerusalem's Biblical zoo were treated to ice lolleys.
