The well-guarded gates of the Sultan's Pool just outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem were opened at six o'clock in the afternoon for Jerusalem’s International Festival of Arts and Crafts. The festival, which takes place from the 11th to the 23rd of August and has been held annually for the past 13 years, has become a tradition in the capital and is one of the largest tourist attractions in the region.
The festival features many inter-disciplinary performances of theatre and dance as well as rows of arts and crafts booths, offering both young and old participants a spectacular mix of entertainment and shopping. More than 150 Israeli artists and craftsmen featured their paintings, prints, carpentry, jewelry and decorations of all kinds. Infolive.tv was on the scene to experience the wonderful festival first hand. The international exposition also enabled participants to figuratively travel the world as they passed from booth to booth, featuring both people and objects from East Asia, South America, Europe and even Africa. The arts and crafts and the people who made them came from the four corners of the earth to participate in one of the most famous festivals in the region. Various performances of dance and world music were also featured at the event. The amphitheater being continuously filled by diverse and talented musicians such as Shlomi Shabat, Etnix, Yshar Ashdod, Meir Banai and even Aviv Geffen.08/24/08
