Over one hundred Israeli policemen raided a building in Umm El-Fahm on Saturday night belonging to the “Al-Aska” institution, an organization affiliated with the Islamic Movement of Israel.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak issued the order to carry out the raid, declaring the movement illegal.
The policemen confiscated computers, documents, books and leaflets allegedly containing incitement against the state.
According to police, the decision to carry out the raid was made in light of information linking "Al Aksa" to a Jerusalem organization affiliated to Hamas.
"Al Aksa" is suspected of transferring funds to Hamas via the Jerusalem office, allegedly though money-changers, cash transfers and bank deposits.
The Islamic Movement called the raid "a declaration of bankruptcy by the Israeli establishment." 08/24/08
