Scientists in Israel have discovered a new way to test for water pollution by listening to what plants growing in water have to say. The technique of shining a laser beam on tiny pieces of algae floating in the water that enables  researchers to hear the sound waves and determine the amount of contamination in the water was developed by Dr. Yulia Pinchasov.08/17/08
