On Tuesday morning the city of Gori near the south Ossetian border continued to suffer from Russian shelling. Aside from a handful of residents and foreign press crews, the smokey streets of the city remained empty.

Later that morning  Yedioth Aharonoth reporter Tzadok Yehezkeli, was seriously injured  while covering the ongoing fighting in the city.Yehezkeli was standing with several other local and foreign reporters in the town square when a sudden blast occurred, apparently caused by a single mortar.
A Dutch cameraman Stan Storimans, was killed in the blast, along with three Georgian civilians. Yehezkeli and a Dutch reporter were injured.

After undergoing two operations in Tbilisi overnight Tuesday, Yehezkeli accompanied by Israeli doctors from Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital was flown back to Israel, arriving early Wednesday morning. His condition is listed serious but stable.08/13/08
