Israeli windsurfer Shahar Tzuberi, won his third individual race Tuesday, cementing his status as a favorite for an Olympic medal in his class. Tzuberi finished the first two races of the Neil Pryde competition in first and third respectively and leads the standings after the first day of racing in Qingdao, southeast of Beijing.

In the women's competition, Ma'ayan Davidovich is in 11th position overall after finishing in 13th and 10th place respectively in Monday's two races.

The sailing  470 Class got off to a poor start and Udi Gal and Gidi Kliger, who are meant to be one of the delegation's best medal hopes, could only manage a 13th and 16th place finish on Monday and are positioned 16th overall. Gal and Kliger still have eight more races to be run in the competition until the decisive medal race. 

Nike Kornicki and Vered Buskila didn't fare much better in the women's 470 and are only in 10th place overall after finishing in the eighth and 13th positions on Monday.08/12/08
