At a rally in Tel Aviv calling for the release of IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, held in captivity for over two years in Gaza, Israeli singer and songwriter Aviv Geffen sung a new song written especially for Gilad, called Everybody's Child. All the the proceedings of the song said Geffen will be donated to the campaign for Gilad Schalit's release. Audiotape courtesy of Helicon Records. 07/2/7/08

What a beautiful song from the heart of this singer and the people of Israel! I am an American woman who has visited your land and met with your people and leaders! I have chosen to be a watchman on your wall and stand with you oh Israel against the many senseless acts of terror that are visited upon you! May G_d bring Gilad home quickly and safely from the arms of his enemies and to the arms of his family and friends who love him so! May the people of America who rise against their own soldiers see this the great love you have for yours and repent! Thank you for showing us this video and song! Tani Zarelli

so set him free

all our hearts are bleeding for this child. and if we were to put our money where our mouths are, if aviv geffen were to live up to his song we would all be marching into gaza as a nation, and forcing the bastards to release him. instead we have a government who puts their Peron interests in front of the nations, in front of this poor child's, the hypocrisy makes me sick. if we really felt the way we say we do we would act upon it and kidnap their leaders, their children and demand his release. this is a world of ideals, of proverbs and words but no real man willing to make the grade. will the real jew, the real leader please stand up! anything that is said by the people in the spot light, including aviv geffen, on this issue, is all hot wind...nothing but words..they are simply capitalizing on his suffering for their own benefit. long gone are the days where we had real leaders. it seems to me that the real leaders who need to stand up are the regular members of society who understand the difference between false hood and integrity. unless we, as the people, are willing to make the sacrifice and put our money where our mouths are he will never be released. and as long as he is there it should be a mark of shame on our individual and national consciousness. poems are very nice but they do nothing to get this boy home. dont get fooled by the fluff,in these situations only hard cold action makes a difference. when he is home than we can sing a song, until then all the songs are bull.
