Despite the political crisis brewing in Israel, a direct outcome of a police investigation against him, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert embarked on a two day visit to Washington, where he will face music over Israel's latest decision to build over 884 housing units in Jerusalem's Pisgat Ze'ev and Har Homa neighborhoods. On Sunday, Housing Minister Ze'ev Boim said the bids have already been approved by the government.
Olmert's visit to the United States may albeit a brief one, but he is leaving behind him an array of urgent issues that have yet to be addressed by the government. If all that isn't enough Olmert will have to face the repercussions of the ongoing police investigation that has threatens to bring an end to his entire political career.06/03/08
