Three Israeli Arabs from Lod were arrested by the Shin Bet and Israel Police after they allegedly planned to kidnap and kill an Israeli soldier and use him as a bargaining chip for the release of Palestinian security prisoners, the Shin Bet announced Monday.

The three, Amir Nafar, 20, an Islamic Studies student at the University of Jordan, Aiman Kadura, 26, and Yassin Hinawi, 19, were arrested in the past two months. During their interrogation, the Shin bet discovered that the idea to perpetrate the attack was formulated by the three in the largest mosque in Lod, where they held secret meetings.

Last December during the Eid al Adha holiday, Nafar invited Kadura and Hinawi to meet at the mosque and told
them every Moslem was obligated to wage Jihad against the infidels.

They planned to document the murder on camera, and bury the soldier in a secret hiding place. Last December, during the Eid al-Adha holiday, Nafar invited his two accomplices to an urgent meeting at the mosque during which he laid out his support for the Jihad idea and said that every Muslim was obligated to fulfill the commandment to wage Jihad against the infidels.

The three will appear at the Petah Tikva District court where they will be charged with conspiring to commit a crime and aiding the enemy in war time.

In March Israeli Arab Alaa Abu Ala Dheim, from the east Jerusalem village Jabel Mukaber entered the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem and murdered in cold blood 8 yeshiva students and wounded over 10.

In August last year Ahmad Mahmoud Khatib, an Israeli-Arab from the village of Kfar Manda, snatched the pistol of a security guard, wounded ten people before he was shot dead by another security guard.  06/02/08
