Israeli singer Boaz Mauda came 9th in the 2008 Eurovision Song contest singing the song With Fire In Your Eyes, that took place in Belgrade on Saturday night. Russia was awarded first place with Dima Bilan singing the song Believe. Ukraine came second and Greece third.
Watched by an audience of over 100 million people world wide, one could not ignore the continuation of "political voting" by certain countries, as in former years. Sadly, it appears the Eurovision Song Contest is less focused on music and more on which countries seek to cement their ties with others.
Mauda scored lots of single points from the majority of countries voting at this year's contest. Most of the songs appearing in the contest lacked originality with performers going all out on visual effects.05/25/08
