Terrorists Blow Up Truckful Of Explosives At Erez Crossing, No Israeli Casualties In The Attack

A truckful of explosives driven by a Palestinian terrorist blew up Thursday morning on the Palestinian side of the Erez crossing in north Gaza where terrorists attempted to target soldiers deployed at the site. According to initial reports soldiers spotted the truck and opened fire causing the explosives to detonate on the Palestinian side of the crossing. No soldiers were wounded in the attack in which the Palestinian suicide bomber was killed. The force of the powerful bomb was felt in nearby Israeli communities including Moshav Nativ Haassera windows in one of the homes was shattered.The Islamic Jihad later claimed responsibility for the attack.05/22/08
