According to Palestinian finance minister, foreign aid given to the Palestinian authority has more than doubled in 2006, despite the International Community’s boycott of the Hamas government.
Most of the aid has been redirected towards President Mahmud Abbas, according to the Palestinian Finance Ministry.

Palestinians have benefitted from assistance, amounting to $ 721.7 million dollars in 2006, against $348.5 million in 2005. More than 60% of the above monies were donated by Arab countries or Arab private donors.
