In the past the Bedouin women lived in a bubble of isolation that prevented them from entering the modern world, as their society perceived it as harming the family honor. The Bedouin women's status began to improve at the beginning of the Nineties after the Bedouin society became more acquainted with the modern world and women rights organizations recognized that the Bedouin women were in real danger. From that point and onward the status of Bedouin women changed as they sought a more independent way of life rather than being dependent on their husbands, and began to acquire new roles and skills.
