To show their support and solidarity for the people of Sderot who have suffered from daily rocket attacks for over seven years, thousands of Israelis converged on the western Negev town Friday morning to shop, spend their money on food, groceries, cosmetics and clothes at local stores and boost sales. The town center was crowded and streets congested with traffic with drivers trying to find parking places for their cars,

Thousands boarded buses at designated meeting points organized by various groups in the country’s major cities, others opted to travel in their own vehicles. On arrival,  police and members of the Homefront Command briefed the  visitors on what to do in the event of a Kassam rocket attack.

Prior to the arrival of masses in the town a rocket fired from northern Gaza landed in an open field02/22/08

I agree I wish I could be there and show support by spending money to help the local economy... I Googled "Sderot shopping online", after reading a news article about the continuing attacks, not knowing about the Friday shopping spree, to help support the locals, as I live in Dallas TX but would still like to show support.. May our shared Father be with us all and come soon!!!
