Since the Hamas takeover in the Gaza Strip the Shin Bet estimates that 80 tons of explosives have been smuggled into Gaza, Hamas operatives have undergone military training in Iran and Hamas is building a vast network of tunnels similar to the Hizbullah styled bunkers in southern Lebanon. Hamas is also stepping up its efforts to strengthen terror cells operating in the West Bank.

While 2007 will be remembered as the year in which there were the smallest number of Israeli fatalities, terrorists' motivation to launch attacks remains high, the Shin Bet said. Hizbullah meanwhile continues to pour $10 million a year to Palestinian terror groups encouraging them to step up their attacks against Israel.01/01/08

Hamas and Hizbollah

Madness. Why can't Hamas and Hizbollah just give everyone a break, admit that Israel has a right to exist, and then get on with their lives? Israel would eventually give them about anything they wanted. Anyone who uses civilians as shields has no heart. Tragically, in modern warfare, it seems that innocent civilians always become fodder for the weapons of death. Do warriors ever consider what a Higher Power might be thinking about the destruction and maiming of this Higher Power's children? I am talking about ALL people, when I speak of children.
