Israel News - Russian Warships To Dock In Syria

In an effort to expand its military presence in the international arena and reestablish a naval presence in the Middle East, Russia has dispatched a naval fleet to the region, including a guided missile cruiser, two anti submarine ships and 47 fighter planes. The fleet will dock at the Syrian port of Tartus where Russia maintains a technical base. At the same port, Iranian ships are also docked.

Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov told reporters that the expedition "is aimed at ensuring a naval presence and establishing conditions to secure Russian navigations." Serdyukov added that the fleet will conduct tactical exercises with real and simulated launches of sea and air based missiles and intends to call at a number of different ports in the region.

In the past, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia would respond in the event Iran was attacked by a foreign power. Boosting Russia's naval presence in the area could well be an attempt to signal to Israel and possibly America that if Iran is attacked, Russia will strike back.

The Russian President has stressed on numerous occasions that he strives to become more involved in the Middle East, including the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

Whether such a large Russian presence docked at the Syrian port, will hamper Israeli navy operations or intelligence gathering missions remains to be seen.12/.06/07

Are you serious?! This is scary that Russia is including itself in the Iranian affairs. We are all going to be crying out to God to save us when we are being bombed left and right by two horrible nations! Wake up and realize that Isreal is the promised land, and we must try and protect these people, the people of God.

i believe that israel is not recently playing the proper game of politics,great powers have to be given indicators of trust and cooperation and sharing in the world politics and its completely unhealthy to keep the USA on top of world decisions and warefares. we are coming to the world war 3 gents, and the spark will start from lebanon or sarayavo, no one knows and the loser will be Mankind inclusive of the elite managing the wrong politics of the 22 nd century

we are pushing too much , in the middle east, russia and china are just waiting for the rigth time to struck back; when that happen they will come to usa land fast. we must start using our diplomacy, in order to delay this to happen. our leaders seems to me that they want this to happen or they are living in wonderland. consume less. is the only way to control corporations and goverment!

Oh yes! and Israel is just going to stand by and watch the destruction of eretz yisroel just like that. It has taken 2,000 years for the jewish people to return to zion, the destruction, genocide of 6,000,000 european jews and some north african jews in the second world war, also ending in many cases around 2,500 years of a continuous jewish presence living in arab lands, whom were made homeless refugees from 1948 and onwards, their money, property, as well as communal property stolen from them by the ruthless and murderous arab tyrants of those countries. Some of their property was also given to house palestinian arabs whom were given refugee status in those arab countries but not citizenship. Today over 50% of the population of Israel are comprised of jews from arab and islamic lands. Israel is well capable of defending it's sovereignty whenever it is threatened whether or not it's from neighbouring arab countries, or the new Russian federation, war isn't a picnick, however if the very life of Israel is in the balance, then I would be prepared to die if I new that millions of of jew haters and killers the world over including the russians would also die.

There is quite a big possibility that Israelians are living under great dream of delusion, being stressed on the past and many false prophesies from that era... Instead you have to live in present, constantly reminding yourselves that God is almighty, He does not want to punish no one, all that is going on is but the ego games of the superpowers that want to get overpower of the World at large - and Israel has put itself in the middle of this things because this country is led by war mongers, not by peace mongers.... Thank You Enn from Estonia, Such wonderful light in all this darkness. Yes this artificial set up fortress Israel needs to win the hearts and minds of her neighbors if she is to survive.
