La Kneset el miércoles aprobó una enmienda por la cual se permitirá al parlamento forzar a un Primer Ministro en ejercicio a ser suspendido de forma temporaria en caso de que la policía lance una investigación criminal en su contra o que su salud se deteriore de manera tal que le impida cumplir con sus obligaciones. Según esta propuesta, para regresar al cargo, el Premier suspendido deberá obtener 61 votos en el plenario. La propuesta fue presentada por Zevulum Orlev del Partido Nacional Religioso y Iosi Beilin, de Meretz.
